I´m curious about how much does a basset weights.

My males are 75 and 80 pounds each... And very elegant and athletic.
And my females are 55 and 43 pounds ...
The 43 one is too small... I know...

What about yours?

They are all different. Also long as they do not look too skinny or fat right in front of the back legs they should be fine..

our previous basset was only 43lbs but she was not underweight, just a small basset.

Mine are all different sizes and weights -- I have 2 littermate sisters that are 34 and 35lbs (pictured below)....then I have them up 55lbs (pictured below the 2 littermates).

Shirley is 23.1 Kgs
Dinky is 22 Kg's (haven't weighed her since Nov last year)

To me it´s easier...

Napoleon is 35 Kg
Big Ben is 36 Kg
Margareth is 24 Kg
And Camyla is 18 Kg ( very little, but big in love )

My basset is 45 pounds. He takes after his mom which weighed 40 pounds. His dad was 65.

My current two are 48 and 45 pounds. My lighter one is my senior bitch, she is really active but still a bit pudgy. My heavier one is my young male, who is extremely active and almost always in a conditioned body.

Wow, 80lbs that is big.. but all bassets are different. Our previous basset was 43lbs and it was perfect for her. With bassets or any long backed dog, they should be a little on the thin side of normal, so as not to put too much stress on the back.

Our two current bassets, one male one female, both are 4.5 months old, two different litters born two days apart, are both 25lbs (at least they were a couple days ago). So if figure we are looking at 50lbs minimum for these two full grown.
