I am wanting to start hunting or doing field trials with my bassets.
Does anyone know any other basset owners in the central louisiana area or basset hound clubs in this state?

I do not think you will find any Basset Hunting Clubs here in the South.

I am in North Alabama and the closes AHBA club is a little over 4 hours in Southern Indiana. The AHBA clubs are up North and East.

The AKC Basset Field Trials closes location is up North and East as well. .....then they have some West Clubs.

Doesn't seem to be a big following here in the south of hunting with Bassets.

I would love to see more intrest in hunting with bassets here in the south. It's hard to find a decent basset in Louisiana , that is why my wife and i drove more than 20 hours two different times to get some good dogs. I hope to do something with our bassets to show people down here that they can do more than eat and sleep all day.
