Hello everyone,
So I have a 6 year old female basset jessie. We have had her since she was 8 weeks old she was fine up until she was 2 when suddenly she gowled at me when I approched her, didn't think much over it but its just got worse. She will growl her pupils go big and she just lunges and snaps, sometimes she just snaps other times she will keep coming. She is not aggressive it is just dominance. I don't know what else to do to make her stop I make sure I go first and I make her sit and wait before feeding her. I keep calm up until she attacks me Please can someone help me as she properly scares me and my whole family.

Have you taken her to the vets to get her checked out? It is strange for a basset to suddenly change in personality at that age. Maybe she is in pain and is frightened of being touched.

I would get a vet to make sure that everything is ok and if it is, then seek out a good behaviourist.
